Transmission Service

Has it been 30,000 miles since your last automatic transmission service? or 60,000 miles since your last manual transmission service?

Transmission fluid brakes down with time and heat while it accumulates metal shavings from transmission wear. Insuring you have fresh transmission fluid can extend the life of your transmission and save you money down the road.

Alliance Transmissions will take care of automatic and standard transmission flushes and service. If you can't remember the last time  you had a transmission flush, or service this year, you're probably due for one. Read more about transmission flushes. Transmission Rebuild

Alliance Transmissions Rebuilds Standard and Automatic Transmissions while accounting for the latest technical service bulletins (TSB's). This means that when we rebuild and repair your transmission we're actually upgrading it to the latest revision.

While most customers either don't care or think they will be replacing the transmission with a new or used transmission, they would typically be better off with a custom rebuilt transmission. The reason for this is that there are so many different kinds of automatic transmissions out there. Transmissions can have the same serial number and still not be compatible with your car. For the exact same make, model, and style of your car, there can be slightly different revisions of the same transmission from year to year, that make your car and the transmission in question completely incompatible.

Why not a New Transmission?

A new transmission can typically be bought for around $8,000 or in extreme cases such as the Nissan GTR $30,000. It's easy to see why new transmissions are not commonly installed.

Custom Rebuilt Transmissions

Custom rebuilt transmissions typically last the remaining life of the vehicle, and fit every time. Our high quality standards backed by a nationwide 2 year 24,000 Mile Warranty insure that your transmission will last.

Automatic Transmissions

Is your transmission slipping? Does the engine race without accelerating? Does your transmission shift rough or abruptly? Did your transmission stop shifting? Is Reverse not working?

While not all of these symptoms mean you need a transmission rebuild, they do indicate that you should have your transmission inspected. While many of these symptoms can be fixed with a new battery, transmission flush, or other simple fix, they can also indicate a severe problem that will not solve itself and will only get more expensive with time.

Modern Automatic Transmissions are computer controlled and rely heavily on sensors. The correct diagnostic computers and diagnostic procedures are absolutely essential in repairing today's complicated Automatic transmissions. Luckily Alliance Transmissions has the diagnostics and tools to diagnose cars trucks and heavy duty vehicles at our San Marcos Transmission Repair Shop. Alliance also has ASE Certified staff that know how to work on the latest automatic transmissions in all the major car manufacturers.

Standard Transmissions

While Standard Transmissions are less complicated than their automatic counterparts, they are still a handful to work on. They require the right tools and a good good knowledge of how the entire transmission works. Alliance Transmissions' ASE certified staff are expert manual transmission rebuilders. All of our staff also have the practical experience needed to correctly and quickly identify the problem and fix it.

Clutch Repair

Is your clutch worn? Does your car grind when going into gear? Does your engine race without accelerating? Does your clutch make a noise when depressing it? Does your clutch seem to soft or too stiff? Clutches are wear items and need to be replaced. Alliance Transmissions Mechanics are ASE certified to replace your Standard or Manual Transmission's Clutch, and since we're so good at it, we can charge less for a quality service.
